Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) filed a case against 12 persons arrested on the charge of gold smuggling through the Tribhuvan International Airport claiming their involvement in a gold smuggling case. The CIB had seized 33 kg gold on January 5 based on a tip-off.
After a long investigation, police found out that five persons were active in packing and management of gold. The pictures of the luggage were sent to Nepal through Facebook Messenger.
CIB Chief informed that Facebook messenger was used in sending photos in Nepal.
The CIB has already arrested 12 individuals, including SSP Shyam Bahadur Khatri based on a tip-off claiming their involvement in the gold smuggling racket.
